Katerina Papagiannouli

Researcher in Statistics and Mathematics of Deep Leaning Theory

My research lies at the intersection of probability, statistics, optimal transport, optimization and deep learning theory.

I am an RTD-A in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pisa, funded by FAIR — Future Artificial Intelligence Research, close collaborators Dario Trevisan.

Prior to this, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, where I worked under the supervision of Sayan Mukherjee and Guido Montúfar .

I obtained my PhD in Mathematical Statistics from the Department of Mathematics at Humboldt University of Berlin.
